I have to say that I like this version better than the coloured version simply because of the stark contrast and the more detailed backgrounds. You said that you did this in a program called "Manga Studio"? Sounds like I've been doing things the hard way. I would look into this program except for my strict contempt for anything calling itself "manga". I like the layout of the panels, it's very much how I would do it. Not that it matters for this example, but am I supposed to read this from right to left?

The program is called "Manga Studio 3.0 EX" officially, with there being a version 4.0 out right now. I bought it from a local Dick Blick's art shop here a few years ago when I hoped to make the next great 'manga'. I believe the company that publishes it also publishes a "Comic Studio". Though, they are basically the same program. You can do some fantastic panel layouts in it and it has a library of nearly 250,000 tones and backgrounds. It's easy to import art work into it. And, as you can see from the one you picked, it does help the pages pack a punch, even for my horrible art. Lol.

And, about the piece, I totally agree that it looks much better. I had imported the colored page to tone it and then accidentally converted it to black and white. I was like, "That looks so much cooler."
